Minnesota Prayer Breakfast
☼ Minneapolis, MN
Our Moment
What a year we've had in Minnesota — what a six-year period.
The murder of George Floyd. The murder of the Speaker. Annunciation School. ICE. Trouble on the farm and in small towns. Trouble in suburbs. Trouble in the cities. And a hundred other troubles that didn't make the news.
“Let’s not be afraid or discouraged, but press on in our faith and gather to pray for Minnesota — and take action on what we hear God tell us.”
God cares about people.
God cares about place.
God cares about healing and justice.
The Minnesota Prayer Breakfast
exists to serve that mission.
An aspiration that starts with an invitation.
Come and join us November 20 to learn about a twelve-month process we are initiating to identify key challenges in Minnesota and pray about them.
Minnesota is an aspiration — that’s why our forbearers looked to the Star of the North as their guide. Spiritually, those who follow Jesus seek the “kingdom of God” wherever they find themselves. Tough times like these stimulate our desire to seek better and do more to fulfill the aspirations of all Minnesotans. That’s also why we're inviting you to the Minnesota Prayer Breakfast this year.
In Matthew 9, Scripture records that in troubled times, Jesus observed people in many villages as “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Jesus, the Good Shepherd, saw that as a moment when the “field was ready for harvest” — interesting conclusion … hopeful. Then Jesus directed: “Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest field."
We believe that Minnesota is a "harvest field" for Jesus — even (or especially) in hard times — we are asking for “laborers” — those who will roll up their sleeves and engage with Minnesotans to confront our divisions.

WORDS THAT GUIDE US
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”
Jesus of Nazareth — Matthew 9
